Dick Travis, born in Mobridge, South Dakota, graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1976 and graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1980. Following graduation, he began working as a general practitioner for the law firm of Frieberg, Frieberg & Peterson in Beresford, South Dakota. During his tenure in Beresford, Dick was Deputy State’s Attorney for Union County for four years. In 1990, he joined the law firm of May & Johnson, P.C. where the focus of his practice is civil litigation, insurance defense, and workers’ compensation.
